About

I have over 25 years of hands on experience spanning full-stack web development, mobile applications, cloud infrastructure and engineering leadership. I am equally at home writing production code and directing teams, having built complex enterprise platforms from the ground up and led them through to scale.

During the pandemic, I designed and built the software and infrastructure used by the NHS, St John Ambulance and GoodSAM to run the UK's mass COVID-19 vaccination campaign, enabling the recruitment of 80,000 vaccinators within two months, delivered to specification and on a strict deadline. As Technical Director at Instinctive Technologies, I also architected and built a full featured recruitment ATS from scratch, supporting circa 15,000 recruiter logins per day, thousands of applications per day, and a database of circa 500 million records for millions of applicants.

Alongside this, I have independently conceived and built Yay Monday, a SaaS recruitment platform, and hollaspot, a QR based platform for dynamic content delivery. I am known for clean, well tested, well documented work and a passion for mentoring developers at every level of their careers. I am also an active member of HelpBnk, a social platform for aspiring entrepreneurs, regularly mentoring and advising other members on their business and technical ideas.
